Which is why every year we put together a ‘Top Wedding Trends’ list to help brides get into gear! So, without further ado, herewith our Avalon Rents wedding experts’ top wedding trends for 2018.

Our Okanagan sunshine can really affect your guests so hosting a wedding under a tent and offering guests umbrellas for shade plus plenty of water is the perfect way to save the day! It also gives you an added comfort level knowing that if there is a sprinkle of rain there is shelter. 

 

One of the biggest trends this year is hanging greenery and décor. Air terrariums, wreaths, hanging centerpieces, and hanging backdrops… but think greenery instead of drapery! At Avalon, we have an assortment of mini air terrarium globes for that special set up. Use them empty for an airy texture, with battery operated tea lights for more than a little romance, or mix it up with faux moss and succulents as we have in our showroom. This year the abundance of greenery and lush organic décor is in.

 

Think rustic and woodsy, but with a chic twist. Some of our most popular rental items continue to be our harvest tables and chairs, our wine barrel bar, Chiavari chairs for an added bit of glam, café lighting, and chandeliers. Leaning more towards wood grains and greenery this year, vineyard and barn chic are also still big!

 

This is the year to be transparent. When it comes to table setting and décor think of a beautiful glass house. Simplistic and elegant. Transparent elements can change a table setting from status quo to romantic and unexpected, which translates to a great look for modern and minimalist couples. Want to see what we mean? Shades of blue are definitely the trending colour palette for this year. Indeed, navy is the new black in 2018! From suits to florals, linens and more, we have so many shades of blue and textures to choose from to accessorize your table and chairs!

 

This year everyone is leaning towards dark and romantic textures and colors. Violet has taken hold by being paired with deep burgundy, mauve, lilacs and blush. This mix of colours is extremely elegant in linens and in floral bouquets. 

 

Classic metallics seem to be one trend that never goes out of style. We’ve got you covered with our new gold cutlery and gold rimmed plates, gold and silver chargers, platters and vintage cake and cupcake trays!
