Looks for inspiration in unlikely places…
You’ve seen it on Pinterest (or it could just be what you use Pinterest for) and you’ve seen all the designers use them…”Mood Boards”. Mood boards or inspiration boards are a great way to not get OVERWHELMED with the decision making process. Think outside of the box for colour – nature, craft supplies, fabrics – everything you come across in your daily life can inspire COLOUR!
Something Unexpected
Adding a big punch of an unexpected colour can give your room something you would have never imagined. But there is also something to be said about sticking with similar shades, tones or colours. Having an all grey room sounds boring and dull, but with different shades of greys or light colours that compliment often give a soothing effect. Think all white spa…ahhh!
Focal Point or Statement Piece
This is a something we always hear in decorating or in fashion – what is the focal point? If your venue has something (that isn’t hideous) that can act as a statement piece or a focal point – play it up!
